Durante um furação um Ujal junta-se com uma mulher humana, para efeitos de sobrevivência pois claro, e depois cada um vai para o seu caminho. Reencontram-se mais tarde e a "aventura" começa.

Para a Sam a quadra não alterou os seus projetos de concluir o curso, viajar com os médicos sem fronteiras, de forma a arranjar experiência, mas o seu pai tem outras intenções de como deve correr. Chegou a sua vez, ao completar os seus vinte e cinco anos, de cumprir a tradição. 
Tem de escolher um dos participantes da caçada e casar com ele, ordens do seu pai, logo da familia. Sam pede uma benção ao incluir um escolhido seu na caçada, a sua mãe não acha piada e tentar boicotar a entrada dele na caçada. O pai autoriza desde que cumpre as regras da caçada.

E Sam é drogada e largada na floresta e a caçada começa.
