Leitura agradável, mais um pouco do Universo da BBW mas numa versão diferente temos a geração seguinte de guerreiros, neste livro a história de Boone e depois aparece o seu par, Helaine. 

A geração seguinte é sempre diferente da anterior, nem que seja só um bocadinho, não é :) Estes não contêm a mesma crença na Virgem Escriba ou mesmo na sociedade em geral devido as mudanças ocorridas. Boone sente-se um homem em desgraça, acusou o seu próprio pai de trair o rei e no decorrer da investigação realizada perdeu o seu pai para as Sombras, pertence a glymera, como filho do nobre que é, foi colocado em suspenso da atividade nas ruas mas encaminhado para a investigação policial, com Butch. Durante esta investigação conhece Helaine e ambos procuram o assassino de mulheres.

Helaine, filha desamparada duplamente, primeiro pelos pais, já falecidos, e depois pela irmã, assassinada faz meses. Decide sair do conforto do seu lar, e seu único refúgio, para circular na discoteca onde a irmã foi morta, prevenindo outras mulheres dos perigos existentes aqui e talvez ajudá-las.

Sinopse:
