The Savior (Black Dagger Brotherhood #17) de J R Ward

Leitura agradável e com reviravoltas, mais ou menos, parecem mas na realidade retardam um pouco aquilo que nós já sabemos que vai acontecer.

Conhecemos um elemento até a data pouco mencionado pela irmandade, o irmão Murhder, considerado como maluco, afastado do ativo contra a Lessening Society, vive no sótão num tipo de casa de hospedes assombrada por ele próprio e gosta de pregar partidas ao caçadores de fantasmas que vão lá e mais outras tantas pessoas.

Ao ler o livro estas premissas deixam de existir e vemos um vampiro com o propósito de ajudar uma mulher que encontrou há muito tempo enclausurada por humanos num centro de investigação mas chega tarde demais. Mais tarde esse propósito passa para o seu filho, Nate, ajudá-lo a sobreviver a sua fuga do centro de investigação onde trabalha Sarah (face idêntica à mulher enclausurada), e ainda a sobreviver a sua transição para vampiro. Apercebemo-nos das divergências e pouca aceitação da Irmandade por este irmão, da sua história amorosa com Xhex, que lhe traz alguns atritos com o marido, e paralelamente temos o ataque dos Sombras que marca John mortalmente e o faz pensar no seu papel no mundo.
