Leitura agradável e intrigante pelo simples facto de existir Djinn nas personagens, uma forma de génio na primeira interpretação que li mas aqui retratada como uma espécie que vive ao lado dos humanos, e os combate sempre que pode e desta vez criou uma pandemia para os aniquilar. Existem dissidentes desta prática que escolhem companheiras humanas, nada mencionado se existe ou não a parte feminina nessa espécie.

Leitura agradável e singela, sobre uma casa, Manderley, e as suas mulheres, escrito na forma gótica, com sombras e duplo sentido para as coisas, e lembrar que foi escrita antes da Segunda Grande Guerra e escrita por uma mulher.

As personagens femininas caracterizam a mulher-criança e a mulher-monstro. Neste último tem duas vertentes personificadas na personagem de Mrs. Danvewrs, a governanta que parece omnipresente em Manderley, aparecendo ao pé da nova Mrs de Winter e assustando-a, contando estórias da falecida Rebecca, a anterior esposa de Mr. de Winter, e a própria Rebecca, criatura bela, agradável, boa dona de casa mas descrita pelo marido como uma criatura vil que somente se amava a si própria. E depois temos a mulher-criança, a nova Mrs. de Winter, da qual nem o nome sabemos, inocente e ingénua nos seus 19 anos que chega a Manderley.
