Leitura agradável e rápida, devorada é mais preciso, com uma interpretação diferente para a história de O Jardim Secreto e também de uma parte dos deuses gregos. Neste caso concreto o jardim torna-se entidade senciente, protetora do seu espaço e da família que o habita, e aí daqueles que lá tentem entrar sem a nova dona a reboque pois são corridos a pancada de troncos, folhas e espinhos.
Conhecemos Briseis, com nome de linhagem grega, que está numa altura difícil da sua vida com as suas duas mães, gerindo o negócio de florista numa cidade grande mas a serem esmagados com os aumentos dos preços e com contas para pagar, e com uma afinidade por plantas impossível de esconder, principalmente quando elas a tentam abraçar ou tocar quase desenraizando-se. Recebe uma herança inesperada e começa a aventura.
Ao longo da história muitas questões são colocadas mas não respondidas (descobri que existe um segundo volume talvez nesse), aparecendo criaturas fora do espectro normal de uma sociedade humana, nesta pequena comunidade e ainda, com o aparecimento da deusa Hecate.
